A Trouble Shared is a Trouble Halved

Group Therapy
An Affordable, Effective Choice
for Counseling and Therapy

People often feel isolated and alone with their personal distresses.  Group Therapy gives members an opportunity to experience human commonality when people in the group share problems and feelings in a safe, healing environment.

Many clients say that seeing and helping others work through their problems provides powerful inspiration and motivation for dealing with their own. Often group members become lifelong friends and support partners.
Support groups can be set up around a variety of issues, such as aging, abuse, rape, divorce, etc.  I start new groups as the need arises among my clients.  One of the most successful formats has been Therapeutic Journaling groups. In these groups part of the time is spent journaling and the rest is spent processing the journal material with the group--if members want to share, of course.

Group therapy can also be successful with children and adolescents.  As the need arises, I set up groups for young people in my practice. Parenting groups can be helpful whether they are for parent support or parent training.

Group therapy also has the advantage of being more affordable than individual counseling.  Fees vary but are lower than the cost of individual sessions.
